Keep . Playing . Your . Music
I am so grateful to have been reminded of this while listening to a wonderful reflection posted by the author and social justice warrior Glennon Doyle.
I have often thought about returning to writing this blog - but I have felt S.T.U.C.K. I have been bogged down in what has felt like a quicksand of grief. Grief at all the little and not so little losses I have felt. Grief for the trials faced by my family and friends. Grief for humanity.
I know that right now I cannot save the world. However, I CAN look after myself, my family and friends. I can support them through simple, heartfelt gestures: a phone call, a zoom meeting, a letter or a posted treat. Anything that says to them: I’m thinking of you, I know you, I remember you, I’m here for you, I love you.
One thing that I can do to help keep myself sane; to help myself sift and sort through my thoughts, emotions, questions; is to ‘play my music’ - and for me right now that is to write. If this can be of service or comfort to even one other person, I’m grateful.
What music will YOU play?
